Super C in 16 minutes notes
The remake of Super C in 20 minutes is complete; the actual time to beat the game was about 15:10. The video was made by capturing in MJPEG using CamStudio, then compressing with 2-pass XviD; audio was compressed from PCM using LAME. I encourage sharing on P2P networks, but please do not change the filename.
Notes:
To save time, jumping up while running and then firing downward is preferred to turning around to shoot enemies.
00:56: note that charging up the flame thrower allows you to destroy the gun turret in one shot.
01:15: each gun on the helicopter takes one charged flame thrower shot to destroy. The center takes 4 charged shots.
02:17: I was actually a bit higher than vertically center on the screen, so I need to backtrack or else I would get hit. The point at which I became off-center was after destroying the two tanks. Normally you can just run through that section without harm.
02:43: You only need to concentrate on destroying the top gunner.
03:12: Before the ground turret, be sure to jump in the air so that the sniper in the trees will fire high. Otherwise, you'll need to stop to avoid getting hit.
03:21: When you see the capsule, that means that you're coming close to the grenade launcher. Start firing as quickly as you can.
03:27: Again, jump in the air so that the sniper fires high.
03:38: It's possible to jump while you're moving in the water and fire downward to destroy enemies behind you, but it's a risky maneuver.
04:24: I've found that what is shown is the most effective way to defeat the mini-boss, and it leaves you in a position to not need to jump through the end of the stage.
04:52: Just focus on destroying the center.
05:24: Jump in the air so that the bubble shooter aims "high." This way you can run underneath it without it shooting a low bubble that hits you.
05:45: You don't need to destroy everything--just jump past the slow shots of the gun turrets.
07:30: It isn't very wise to go as high as I did on the screen unless you have good firepower.
07:48: I prefer to destroy the center so you have clear shots at both sides and a safe spot to stay in at all times.
08:22: Just keep moving and jumping. Staying to shoot everything is almost riskier at times.
08:46: The extra jump is to make the boulder in the gap fall.
09:20: Focus on the red area.
09:57: Getting through this area unharmed is difficult. There may be a way to go through like I did so that nothing gets in your way, but I haven't taken the time to investigate a possible pattern. If mouths show up in front of you, you can usually destroy them before they become large, but there's nothing you can do if they sprout directly beneath you.
10:05: Just keep moving. Those heads are just there to absorb your shots against other enemies.
11:47: Watch out of a guy who sometimes just randomly falls through the ceiling onto you.
12:18: Be sure to destroy those creatures. They will keep following you if you do not get rid of them.
12:25: If you stand a few steps away from the enemy, you can usually destroy it and run underneath the creature while it's in the air.
13:16: Only the pods with moving "lips" fire enemies at you. Be sure to destroy them or else the red enemies will keep following you.
13:42: The stationary enemy fires two quick shots, pauses, then fires again. Time your jump so you jump over both shots and can jump to the next level.
13:53: The top capsule is flame thrower. Make sure you get it.
14:04: Again, jump and fire down while running instead of turning around.
14:26: Flame thrower is very useful here; otherwise, you would have probably been better off staying a few jumps back to destroy all of the enemies above before the ceiling came down.
14:33: Be careful with these jumps. It's easy to jump too early and fall.
15:07: Fire at the eye. It takes 6 charged shots to destroy.
